BAFTA TV Forum: Generation Next

baftaThis Friday (10 May) sees the president of Endemol Tim Hincks talk of his career path at BAFTA’s Generation Next event. Aimed at emerging production talent, the day-long session will feature masterclasses, panels, Q&As and networking opportunities.

Hincks will kick off the event, which takes place at the Princess Anne Theatre at BAFTA’s HQ in London. He will talk about how he got his big break and will share his tips on how to come up with the best creative ideas.

The event is open to anyone looking to forge a career in TV, as well as those who have recently started out in roles such as writers, directors, runners, researchers or assistant producers.

Masterclasses will cover topics ranging from creating TV formats to directing documentaries and the day will round off with networking drinks at the Mezzanine bar.

Commenting on the event, Anne Morrison, chair of BAFTA’s Learning and Events committee said: “We aim to de-mystify the structure of the industry, bust some myths, and also examine the reality of working in this challenging and exciting area. By hearing from, and speaking to, professionals in a variety of roles, we hope that delegates leave armed with greater confidence and a wealth of new contacts.”
