Grierson 2013 call for entries
Documentary makers need to get their skates on as the deadline for The Grierson Awards is 31 May 2013. This year’s awards ceremony - dubbed the Oscars for the documentary world - features two new categories: Documentary Presenter of the Year and Best Documentary on Current Affairs.
Taking place in early November, the awards “recognise outstanding documentaries that demonstrate integrity, originality and technical excellence, and social or cultural significance”.
They are accepting documentaries made anywhere in the world, in any category – as long as they have had a first UK screening from 1 May 2012 to 30 April 2013.

• Best Documentary On A Contemporary Theme – Domestic
• Best Documentary On A Contemporary Theme – International
• Best Arts Documentary
• Best Historical Documentary
• Best Science Or Natural History Documentary
• Most Entertaining Documentary
• Best Documentary Series
• Best Cinema Documentary
• Best Newcomer Documentary (prize £3,000)
• Best Student Documentary (prize £3,000)
