Filming starts soon on a new BBC One sitcom, starring David Walliams. Big School (wt) is written by Walliams and the Dawson Brothers, and comprises 6 half-hour episodes.

Set in a secondary school, it centres on forty-something chemistry teacher Mr Church, who has been at Greybridge School for years, and the many dysfunctional members of staff. Also stars Frances de la Tour, Philip Glenister, Joanna Scanlan and Daniel Rigby.

The series comes from BBC In-House Comedy with Bert Productions. Producer is Jo Sargent with Mark Freeland exec-ing. Tony Dow directs; many of the production team are re-uniting after working together on Mr Stink.
