Channel 5 celebrates Dallas ratings boost

Channel 5’s decision to acquire the reboot of classic US series Dallas seems to have paid off.

The first episode of the new series (back on UK screens after a 21 year absence) secured 2.9 million viewers (13% share). Aired from 9pm, that was double the channel’s average share in that slot.

In a separate development, another of Channel 5’s key acquisitions, Celebrity Big Brother, has just ended its latest run, with Julian Clary crowned as winner.
