Simon Cowell Joins Forces With Optomen On Food Show

  • News

Simon Cowell's production firm Syco is joining forces with All3Media-owned Optomen on a new cooking show for ITV1 called Food, Glorious Food

Described as a search for Britain's best-loved recipe, the show will "scour the country in search of one very special dish" made by an amateur cook. The lucky winner will win £20,000 and could see their recipe on the shelves of retail giant Marks & Spencer.

Cooking is a new departure for Syco but Optomen is one of the leaders in the field through its work with rebel chef Gordon Ramsay. The link with M&S is part of a wider trend, which is seeing TV companies linking up with retailers to provide an outlet for products and services showcased in their shows.

The music mogul is branching out into new territory with his new show, Food, Glorious Food. Is stepping away from music shows a risk for him or is it about time he tried something new?
