Charles Dickens Drama: The Invisible Woman: From Production Intelligence

It’s a big year for Charles Dickens aficionados – to mark the bicentenary of the author’s birth, a plethora of dramas and documentaries are in the pipeline.

Cameras are set to roll at the end of April on a feature adaptation of Claire Tomalin’s biography, from prolific screenwriter Abi Morgan.

The Invisible Woman’  examines Charles Dickens’ long running and secret affair with English actress Ellen ‘Nelly’ Ternan; he was 45 when he fell for her aged 18, describing her as ‘irresistible’.

The film marks Ralph Fiennes’ second outing as director, and comes from Headline Pictures and NYC-based Magnolia Mae Films.
