Film London Launches New Industry Training Sessions - INSIGHTS

  • News

Film London has launched INSIGHTS, a new series of monthly seminars shedding light onto key challenges faced by film and media professionals today.

Featuring experts such as writer Tony Grisoni (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), Lizzie Francke (BFI Film Fund) or former Managing Director of BBC Films Jane Wright, the series kicks off with two events which will offer tools to managing the development stage of feature films successfully.

On 20 March, Development I: Understanding Contracts and Agreements will explore development contracts and agreements, including negotiating options with publishers and agents, basic writers’ contracts and development agreements with funders and production companies. This session is ideal for producers, writers and literary agents who wish to get a holistic view of agreements in the film sector.

As a follow up session, Development II: Managing the Creative Process on 18 April will be a unique opportunity to learn from experienced film-makers and commissioners how to triumph in the development stages of a feature film. From sourcing funding to managing the relationships with the creative and executive teams or getting the best from notes and creative input. This seminar is aimed for producers and film-makers keen to get the crucial development stage right.
Each INSIGHTS session will be comprised of an introduction, presentation by the chair and panel discussion followed by a Q&A and networking drinks.
