The BBC has named Anna Mallett as the new CEO of BBC Studios and Post Production. She will report to John Tate, Chairman of BBC Studios and Post Production and the BBC’s Group Director of Policy and Strategy.

Mallett has been Controller of Business Strategy, responsible for the BBC's overall commercial strategy, since September 2008. Commenting on her appointment, Tate said: "It is Anna’s commercial experience and expertise, combined with her energy and vision which will help drive BBC S&PP forward.”

Mallett, who will start her new job in September, added: “I am delighted to be joining BBC S&PP. The company provides the industry with a wealth of production talent, services and skills and I’m passionate about championing the business and establishing growth.”

BBC Studios and Post Production is run as a commercial outfit, providing studios and post production services to the media industry. Last year it worked with hundreds of media companies and other customers, creating some of the UK’s biggest TV titles such as EastEnders, I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Deal Or No Deal. It also delivers digital media services: preserving, re-mastering and managing content through digital archiving, restoration and distribution services.
