Channel 4 Commissioner Exodus Continues

  • News

Head of features and factual entertainment for Channel 4, Sue Murphy, is quitting the broadcaster to join indie producer Optomen as UK creative director.

Murphy is the latest in a growing list of commissioning executives to leave since the arrival of CEO David Abraham (January 2010) and chief creative office Jay Hunt (January 2011).

Others in the C4 exodus include head of documentaries Hamish Mykura, head of daytime Helen Warner and head of drama Camilla Campbell, who this week left C4 to launch Noho, a new indie backed by ITV Studios.

Murphy joined Channel 4 in 1998 and has been there the whole time (except for two years at Channel 5). Highlights during her time include My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, Undercover Boss and Grand Designs.
