Spies of Warsaw Thwart Nazis On BBC4

  • News

Legendary writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais have adapted acclaimed novels, Spies of Warsaw, by Alan Furst for BBC4.

This two-parter roams through a Europe on the brink of war, spanning the decade from 1933-1943. As Hitler’s stranglehold on Germany becomes tighter and his overweening ambition to conquer Europe takes shape, the cast of these best selling spy novels is introduced. Newspapermen, ships’ captains, waiters, jaded intellectuals and boozy British secret agents, they join forces to become the underground army seeking to thwart the Nazi occupiers.

The drama was commissioned by Richard Klein, Controller, BBC Four and Ben Stephenson, Controller, BBC Drama Commissioning.
