Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom have joined the cast of Cities, an international thriller from writer/director Roger Donaldson. Already signed up to the project are Clive Owen and Anil Kapoor.

The film, produced by Chris Curling and Matthew Metcalfe, takes place in the months leading up to the Dow Jones all-time stock market high. It follows the stories of a New York hedge fund manager, a Mumbai policeman and a couple looking to buy a home in London. Shooting is due to start in the Spring 2012 in all of the above mentioned cities.

Commenting on the film, Donaldson said: “The impact (of greed and money) on our every day lives surround us constantly, and Cities will explore this in a dramatic way with tension at every turn.”

Orlando Bloom’s involvement is a coup given his busy schedule. Currently visible in The Three Musketeers, he is filming The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey for a December 2012 release.
