Sammon Quits Sky For Indie Adventure
Mark Sammon, BSkyB’s highly-rated head of factual entertainment, is leaving to set up his own indie.
Sammon was with Living TV Group when it was acquired by Sky from Virgin Media at the start of 2011. At Virgin, he was responsible for hit series Four Weddings and the deal which brought Katie Price to Living. Among his commissions since the Sky takeover was this summer’s Steps Reunion.
Prior to joining Virgin in 2006, Sammon was at ITV. At time of writing, Sammon had not unveiled the name of his new indie, however he is not expected to limit its activities to factual entertainment.
Sky is now looking for a replacement for Sammon.
