Facilities house The Mill officially launched its Design department this month with Carl Addy as Creative Director; Ross Urien as Head of Print, and Adam Brandon as Designer. In addition to this line up, Mill Design will call on input from all corners of The Mill on a project by project basis, as well as collaborating with external designers and artists.

Darren O'Kelly, The Mill's Managing Director commented: "Mill Studio has been collaborating on design projects for some time now and the official launch of Mill Design is a natural extension of what we already do in terms of developing innovate and creative design ideas. Our design team will enable us to continue to offer our diverse range of creative solutions and is a great addition to Mill Group.”

In other Mill news, the company’s visual effects TV team has joined the crew of Sky 1 HD's forthcoming fantasy adventure series, Sinbad. Reuniting with the production team from Impossible Pictures, with whom The Mill has collaborated on Primeval for ITV/Watch and the forthcoming Neverland film for Sky Movies, the VFX team has created a number of key shots.

Will Cohen, Group Director of Mill TV & Film said: "It's always a pleasure working with Impossible Pictures' Tim Haines, whose creative and imaginative scripts never fail to give us plenty of incredible challenges in bringing his visions to life. Sinbad is no exception, and we are delighted to be a part of the team."

The 13 x 60 minute series follows Sinbad's sea-bound journey when he is forced to leave his home town under a fateful curse. Currently filming on location in Malta and scheduled for TX in 2012 , the all-star cast includes Lost's Naveen Andrews, who plays Sinbad's nemesis Lord Akbari, Sophie Okonedo as Razia, Queen of the Water-Thieves and Timothy Spall as Anicetus, The Old Man of the Sea.

Sinbad is an Impossible production for Sky & BBC Worldwide, produced with the assistance of Nine Network Australia.
