Ravensbourne To Offer Free 3D Business Consultancies At Cannes 2011

Following on from the success of the 3D Storytelling event in January, Ravensbourne is taking 3D to the Cannes Film Festival, delivering a number of initiatives for companies and freelancers working in or interested in developing their 3D knowledge:

The first will be the ‘3D MOTs‘, which will be exclusive one hour sessions for London based freelancers and small-to-medium sized creative companies. The sessions will offer a taste of the free tailor-made consultancy and business support services that Ravensbourne offers under the Commercialising Digital Technology Scheme. It will offer 12 hours free business support to eligible companies and look at how a current slate of projects could be developed, shot, edited or converted to 3D. For more information go to www.3dstorytelling.co.uk.

Secondly, there will be one-to-ones, where industry colleagues are invited to discover how they can benefit from the free business support and digital courses offered by Ravensbourne and be able to meet the directors responsible for leading the initiatives.

And thirdly, will be the ‘Turning a Gimmick into a Storytelling Tool” initiative, which will be held at the UK Film Centre. This panel discussion will look at how filmmakers can enhance their film content with 3D. Hosted by Ravensbourne, Skillset and Women in Film and Television, it will also ask what the impact of 3D is on the overall creative process and how 3D enhances this creative process.

Carrie Wootten, Co-Director, 3D Storytelling says: ‘this is a great opportunity for eligible companies to access free bespoke business support and advice on how to 3Dify their outputs”.
