Double award triumph for LS-Live

The premier awards bash for the global live production industry, the TPi Awards, was a night of double celebration for LS-Live, which was the only company to win two titles.

The stage, set and studio company based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, picked up awards for Favourite Rehearsal Facility (sponsored by Showcase) and Favourite Staging Company (sponsored by Sunbaba). LS-Live was also nominated for Favourite Set Construction Company (sponsored by J&C Joel Limited).

The annual TPi Awards has celebrated the most talented individuals and service companies working in the live production industry worldwide for over a decade. Presented by Radio DJ Lauren Laverne at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith on Monday 11th February, the 2013 event attracted 1,500 people.

Director Ben Brooks collected the awards and commented after the event: “We are very proud to be judged favourite rehearsal facility and staging company, and I’d like to thank everyone who voted for us.

“We have made significant investment over the past year in extending our facilities at the rehearsal arena, expanding our team, and improving the service we offer both to our stage and set clients, and within the studio.

“It’s fantastic to know that our hard work is recognised and long may it continue because we will always strive to better ourselves for the future benefit of the TV and Film industry.”

Studio Co-Ordinator Adam ‘Bullet’ Bettley said: “I’m really moved that we have won this award because we’ve put blood sweat and a few tears into our rehearsal arena in the past year, developing things like our in house hotel rooms, training centre Backstage Academy and the introduction of Load Cell Rental’s tour weighing service.”

LS-Live created custom stage structures, sets and automation equipment for the likes of BBC, ITV, Sitcom Soldiers, Jessie J, Chris Brown, Jay-Z, You Me At Six, the Olympic Torch Relay, Bentley, Ibiza Rocks, Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds and One Direction in 2012, and welcomed the likes of The Stone Roses, Keane, Status Quo, Olly Murs, Diversity, Snow Patrol, Lionel Richie and Sigor Ros into its rehearsal arena facility.
