The Manor
The grandeur of this French renaissance-style chateau in the heart of Buckinghamshire makes for a truly inspirational setting for all types of filming projects. It was first used as a location in 1967, when Waddesdon’s facade was transformed into ‘Château Neuf ‘for Carry On Don’t Lose Your Head. Since then the Manor has provided the backdrop for a variety of productions working with major studios. Locations include – Opulent dining rooms, galleries, grand staircases as well as basements and behind the scenes areas. Complimenting the Manor are the manicured lawns and planted formal gardens, parkland, private roads and woodland areas.
The Dairy
Nestling in a tranquil waterside setting amidst glorious gardens, the Dairy is an enchanting private building on the Waddesdon Estate. Made up of 3 impressive rooms, a terrace overlooking the lake and a courtyard. The West Hall is an impressive room with vaulted ceilings and two huge open fireplaces. The Wintergarden, a classical room made predominantly of glass with exterior wooden slatted blinds and the South Hall which is full of art and contemporary styling.
Windmill Hill
Windmill Hill continues the tradition of Rothschild architectural patronage in the Vale of Aylesbury. With spectacular views, an old dairy farm has inspired a place to enjoy cutting-edge art and architecture.
Location
Waddesdon is located just off the A41 between Bicester and Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, with access to plenty of hotels & restaurants in either direction. We are 1 hour away from London by train with services from London Marylebone to Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Haddenham and Thame parkway.
