HBO and the BBC have greenlit a TV mini-series version of Hilary Mantel”s historical novel Wolf Hall. The co-production is being developed by Company Pictures, the indie producer best known for series Shameless.

The screenplay will be written by Peter Straughan, who worked on this year”s critically-acclaimed movie adaptation of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. It follows the rise to power of Thomas Cromwell in 16th century England.
