Wimbledon Studios Hosts The Angel For Sky1 HD

Wimbledon Studios and technical services provider Roll To Record have completed their first joint project, The Angel, for indie producer Twofour.

The Angel, a 5x60min series for Sky 1 HD, is due for transmission in summer 2012. Roll To Record previously worked with Twofour on the series Educating Essex for Channel 4.

Roll to RecordThe Angel gives would-be entrepreneurs the chance to compete for £100,000 worth of investment from billionaire businessman John Caudwell, the man behind Phones4U. The six contestants – each chosen for character, contrast and a great business idea – will be put under extreme pressure throughout a series of rounds, specifically designed to test The Angel”s six golden business attributes; drive, ambition, passion, resilience, commercial intellect and leadership.

Commenting on the production, Jo Taylor, Production Executive, Twofour, said, “Wimbledon Studios and Roll To Record provided us with a bespoke technical set up made especially with our series requirements in mind.”

Piers Read, Managing Director, Wimbledon Film and TV Studios, added, “To have completed a major new series for Twofour and such a high profile series for Sky is testament to the quality of the TV studio and our team here. We’;re delighted they’;re so happy with the experience and are excited about attracting other light entertainment shows to Wimbledon in the near future.”

Elsewhere, it hasn”t been such a good week for Twickenham Film Studios. Currently in administration, it had been on the verge of a buyout. However the proposed purchaser has pulled for personal reasons. There is however plenty of interest from other parties wishing to take over Twickenham as a working studio.
