Who’s who of screen stars line up for J.K Rowling

Filming starts on 7 July on The Casual Vacancy, the forthcoming BBC One adaptation of J.K Rowling’s debut adult novel.
Recent casting announcements have seen veterans of stage and screen such as Michael Gambon and Julia McKenzie boarding the production, joined by thesps du jour Keeley Hawes, Rory Kinnear, Simon McBurney and Monica Dolan among many others.
The narrative centres on a seemingly idyllic English village where everything appears picture-book perfect. But gradually a dark side is revealed to expose a community at war.
The 3 x 60 drama is from Rowling’s shingle Bronte Film and Television, which she runs with her agent Neil Blair. It is produced in association with BBC One and HBO with filming set to take place in the south west, already a thriving production hub.
