A major new drama series from Company Pictures – The Village – is gearing up to start shooting in August, destined for BBC 1.

The Village is described as ‘an epic and emotional story of 20th century Britain”, and is told through the eyes of one man, Bert Middleton.

Having lived in the same Derbyshire village for a hundred years, the story of his life from boyhood to old age provides the main narrative strand. Emma Burge produces this six-parter.
