Talking police dogs in new feature film
A feature film set in a world where police dogs can talk is on the way from the director of The Smurfs and Big Momma”s House.
The feature is called Show Dogs and centres on a police Rottweiler, Max, who is tasked with going undercover at a prestigious dog show in order to avert a crisis.
Director Raja Gosnell is at the helm; his previous credits with a canine theme include Beverly Hills Chihuahua and two Scooby Doo features.
Show Dogs was featured by Variety as one of their Hot Titles to look out for at this year”s Cannes Film Festival market.
The film is set in New York, where some filming will take place, but there is a two-month stint here in the UK too. The anticipated start date – although not yet locked down – is on PI along with the names of the producers and the UK line producer.
