Snatch renewed for a second run

Snatch, the TV drama loosely based on Guy Ritchie”s film of the same name, has been renewed for a second series.

The Sony-owned streaming service and distributor Crackle has ordered the re-commission, after the first season was reportedly described by the channel as “its most-watched scripted original drama”.

UK-based Little Island Productions makes the crime caper with creator/writer Alex De Rakoff set to return as showrunner. The first ten-part series was filmed on location around the Manchester area and starred Rupert Grint – who also joined the team of executive producers – alongside Dougray Scott, Luke Pasqualino and Marc Warren.

It”s early days in terms of a production schedule or HoDs on Snatch 2, but PI subscribers can log in from 20 April to follow the project for updates as more is confirmed.

Little Island Productions was founded by Helen Flint – the company”s credits include Stephen Poliakoff”s BBC Two period drama Close to the Enemy which was filmed in 2015.
