Sky to celebrate Nick Cave in special doc

Florence Welch and Wim Wenders are among Cave’s collaborators appearing in the one-off doc
Musician and artist Nick Cave will be celebrated in a special, one-off documentary on Sky, produced by Supercollider.
The Veiled World of Nick Cave (w/t) will explore the enduring influence and impact of the Australian multi-hyphenate’s creative universe, with contributions from some of Cave’s collaborators, including Florence Welch, Colin Greenwood and Warren Ellis, Bella Freud, Wim Wenders and Irvine Welsh.
Mike Christie is director and Seb Barfield produces. The commissioning editor for Sky is Barbara Lee and the executive producer for Sky Studios is Charlotte Mardon-Heath.
Phil Edgar-Jones, executive director, unscripted originals, Sky, said: “Nick Cave is one of those incomparable artists whose power of storytelling knows no bounds. His vivid landscapes are brought to life through his lyrics, his books, his music and his ceramics. We’re delighted to be lifting the lid on his brilliantly multi-layered world in this special.”
The one-off documentary ties in with the launch next month of The Death of Bunny Munro, Sky’s adaptation of Cave’s second novel starring Matt Smith, with an original score by Cave and Ellis. You can watch the trailer below.
