Screen Summit confirms six high-profile speakers

The summit will take place at the BFI Southbank on 30 September
Screen International’s second annual film summit has added six high-profile industry speakers to its line-up including Zygi Kamasa, Alison Owen and Ed Guiney.
The summit, titled Building on the UK’s Global Success, will take place at the BFI Southbank on September 30; the closing window for early-bird tickets is Friday, 22 August.
The newly-announced names are:
• John Friedberg, president, international – Black Bear
• Kezia Williams, managing director UK & Eire – Universal Pictures International
• Zygi Kamasa, founder & ceo – True Brit Entertainment
• Alison Owen, chief executive, Monumental Pictures
• Ed Guiney, co-ceo & founder, Element Pictures
• Iain Canning, joint founder/ceo, See-Saw Films
Producers Canning, Guiney and Owen will participate in a panel titled ‘The Trailblazers’, moderated by Screen editor-in-chief Matt Mueller, where they will share their hard-won wisdom on building successful production companies and their strategies for embracing the opportunities and navigating the challenges of the modern age.
Friedberg, Williams and Kamasa, all experts in film distribution, will lead a discussion titled ‘The Big Picture’, which will focus on the evolving marketplace for UK film, audience trends, and crafting releases and campaigns for marketplace success.
Previously-confirmed speakers for Screen Summit 2025 include Ben Roberts, chief executive of the British Film Institute, who will give a keynote speech, BBC film director Eva Yates, Film4 interim director Farhana Bhula and the BFI Filmmaking Fund’s Mia Bays, who will take part in a session on the UK’s public funders.
Further speakers will be announced in due course, and other topics that will be explored at this year’s Screen Summit include:

• Connecting UK films to audiences
