Screen Bucks, a new partnership initiative to boost Buckinghamshire’s screen sector, has been launched.

The initiative was developed with Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire Film Office, Amazon Prime, Wycombe Film Studios, the National Film and Television School (NFTS), CineArk, All Spring Media, Buckinghamshire New University, Buckinghamshire College Group, Rogue Runner and Naked TV.

Screen Bucks aims to support productions of all sizes by strengthening collaboration across the county’s screen sector. Its work is based on four keystones: supporting productions; promoting Buckinghamshire as a film-friendly destination; driving growth for local businesses and talent, and advocating for the county’s screen industry at both local and national level.

Andrew M Smith, corporate affairs director at Pinewood Studios and deputy chair, Buckinghamshire Council’s Growth Board, said: “The creative industries are a key economic growth sector for the UK and Buckinghamshire, featuring prominently in both the Government’s and Buckinghamshire Council’s recently published growth strategies.

“Screen Bucks is an important step in bringing together local resources, talent, and industry partners under one brand to strengthen our creative economy and attract inward investment. This initiative will help to further position Buckinghamshire as a leading destination for film and television production.”

The launch was announced during Filming in England’s Connect: Buckinghamshire Industry Mixer, hosted by Creative England’s Filming in England team as part of their BFI-funded quarterly programme of regional networking events.

As well as Pinewood and Wycombe, Buckinghamshire’s studio offering includes Garsington Studios in the Stokenchurch area of the Chilterns.
