Production underway in Jersey on Bergerac S2

The series is filmed largely on the island of Jersey

Filming began yesterday (28 July) on the second series of crime drama Bergerac, starring Damien Molony as the titular ‘tec. Filming takes place largely on the island of Jersey.

The U&Original reboot of the long-running 1980s detective series is from BlackLight TV (part of Banijay UK), Jersey-based Westward Studios, with support from Visit Jersey, for delivery to U&Drama.

Adrian Edmondson and Lesley Sharp join the returning cast of Zoë Wanamaker, Robert Gilbert, Chloé Sweetlove, Sasha Behar, Celine Arden and Luke Nunn for the second, 6 x 60’ run.

The second series is written by Toby Whithouse, alongside Ashley Sanders, Emilie Robson and Faebian Averies and is directed by Joss Agnew and Nicole Volavka, with Mike O’Regan as producer.

Bergerac is commissioned by Helen Perry, head of drama commissioning, and ordered by Emma Tibbetts, director of programming, scripted and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning for UKTV.

The executive producers for BlackLight TV are Ben Bickerton, Philip Trethowan and Toby Whithouse; Brian Constantine and James Ahier are executive producers for Westward Studios. Helen Perry exec produces for UKTV.

Banijay Rights handles international distribution for the series, with Simon Cox, EVP content & acquisitions, as executive producer.
