Netflix has unveiled the cast of its upcoming limited series, The Witness

Netflix has officially confirmed the casting on The Witness. The three-part drama explores the real-life events of 1992 when young mother Rachel Nickell was murdered on Wimbledon Common, with her young son Alex the only witness.

The limited series goes on to depict Alex’s father, André Hanscombe, as he navigates the challenges of raising his toddler son after the horrific event. Alex and André Hanscombe serve as consultants on the drama. The Witness will also cover the complexities of the subsequent and lengthy police investigation.

This Town’s Jordan Bolger plays André Hanscombe, while Max Fincham, known for The Tower, takes on the role of the teenage Alex Hanscombe.

The series is produced by STV Studios and directed by Alex Winckler, known for projects This Way Up and Mary and George. Rob Williams is the writer, executive producer, and creator. Other executive producers include Sarah Brown and John Yorke, with Alison Sterling on board as producer.

STV Studios currently has a busy slate – including preparing the second series of Criminal Record for AppleTV+.

Since March, Production Intelligence subscribers have had access to further details about the series, including the prep and shoot dates and contact points. To request a free walkaround of the site, click here.
