Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ kicks off Glasgow shoot

Filming for Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day is getting underway this week in Glasgow
Location shooting will take place from the end of July until mid-August in the Scottish city, with American flags popping up as Glasgow is transformed into New York, according to local media reports.
Shooting is also taking place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
The latest Spider-Man instalment sees UK actor Tom Holland reprise the titular role, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are expected to return, with Sadie Sink joining the cast. It is scheduled for release in July 2026. Amy Pascal produces alongside Marvel president Kevin Feig.
Sony has scheduled a July 31 2026 release date for the film.
This is the second Spider-Man film to shoot in the UK, following 2019’s Far From Home, while No Way Home – which grossed over $1.9bn since its release in December 2021 at the global box office, making it one of the highest-grossing films of all time – and 2017’s Homecoming both shot in Atlanta, Georgia, in the US.
Also filming in the UK at the moment is Netflix’s Sense And Sensibility film adaptation, Warner Bros Practical Magic 2 at Leavesden, The Thomas Crown Affair at Elstree and Netflix’s Pride And Prejudices series adaptation.
