ITV commissions Belsen doc
ITV has commissioned a new documentary from MultiStory Media, part of ITV Studios, on the horrors of Nazi concentration camp Belsen, marking 75 years since it was liberated by Allied troops.
In the 60-minute Return To Belsen, Jonathan Dimblebly retraces his father”s footsteps – Richard Dimbleby was the first broadcaster allowed into Bergen-Belsen after it was liberated; his radio reports documented the mass murder undertaken by the Nazi regime.
Alongside archive footage and Jonathan”s thoughts and recollections, the film includes testimony from survivors and family members about their emotional reactions to what has happened in the 75 years since it was liberated, and reflections on the recent rise of anti-semitism as a prominent issue.
Executive producer for MultiStory Media, Mike Blair said: “This documentary has been fascinating to watch come together given the skill and sensitivity it has required from the production team.
Return To Belsen is produced and directed by Simon Broughton.
