Inception, Alice In Wonderland Dominate Crafty BAFTAs
As expected, the headlines at BAFTA went to The King’;s Speech, with seven awards (including Best Film and Best Actor). But save a few drops of champers for the teams behind Inception and Alice In Wonderland, between them heading five craft-based categories.
Top billing has to go to Inception, which won Production Design (Guy Hendrix Dyas, Larry Dias and Doug Mowat), Special VFX (Chris Corbould, Paul Franklin, Andrew Lockley, Peter Bebb), and Sound (Richard King, Lora Hirschberg, Gary A Rizzo and Ed Novick)
But pushing it hard was Alice, which secured Make-Up/Hair (Paul Gooch, Valli O’;Reilly) and Costume Design (Colleen Atwood).
Other stand-out performances came in Cinematography (Roger Deakins for True Grit) and Outstanding Debut by a British Writer/Director/Producer (Chris Morris, Four Lions).
