Idris Elba”s Guerrilla films next week
Idris Elba”s new drama for Showtime and Sky Atlantic, Guerrilla, will begin principal photography next week in London.
The 6 x 60 is set during the rise of the Black Power movement in the UK in the 1970s and how a couple”s passionate political activism becomes something far more radical.
Elba stars alongside Freida Pinto in the series and he is also among the executive producers. His production company Green Door Pictures is making the show with Fifty Fathoms Productions, ABC Signature and International Famous Players Radio Picture Corporation.
Guerrilla comes from American Crime creator John Ridley, who is joined by writer Misan Sagay; Ridley will also direct a couple of episodes. Filming is all on location in London.

Elba will then move on to make his feature directorial debut next year with Yardie, based on Victor Headley”s 1992 book about a cocaine courier rising through the ranks of London”s drug-dealing world.
