Hugh Laurie is shooting the eight-part series in London locations

Production begins in London today (12 May) on The Wanted Man, an Apple TV+ crime thriller starring Hugh Laurie.

The eight-part drama is written and created by George Kay, with Jakob Verbruggen directing. New Pictures and Kay’s Observatory Pictures are producing for Apple TV+.

Laurie plays Felix Carmichael, the elusive head of a crime syndicate known as The Capital. After being untouchable for twenty years, he is finally captured, but while in Staplehurst prison, it’s revealed he has been betrayed by one of his own. Thandiwe Newton, Fionn Whitehead, Gina McKee, Hazel Doupe, Elliott Heffernan, and Stephen Dillane co-star.

The executive producers are Willow Grylls, Matt Sandford and Kay.

The Wanted Man is one of Apple TV+’s latest UK dramas, along with Idris Elba’s Hijack, Gary Oldman’s Slow Horses, and the upcoming Down Cemetery Road, featuring Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.
