Guy Martin: Proper Jobs recommissioned for U&Dave

The first series of Guy Martin: Proper Jobs was nominated for Best Popular Factual Programme in the 2025 Broadcast Digital Awards
Guy Martin: Proper Jobs has been greenlit for a second run on UKTV channel U&Dave.
The North One-produced show is currently filming, following Martin as he attempts a variety of skilled, demanding roles, including working as a miner in Britain’s deepest working mine in North Yorkshire; as a truck rescuer on some of Britain’s busiest motorways in the East Midlands; as a lifeboat crew member on the Humber and as a dairy farmer in The Hebrides.
Guy Martin: Proper Jobs Series Two has been commissioned by Helen Nightingale, head of factual & factual entertainment commissioning at UKTV and ordered for U&Dave by Adam Collings, director of programming, factual & factual entertainment and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning. Executive producer for UKTV is Emile Nawagamuwa.
The executive producer for North One is Steve Gowans, and the series producers and directors are Ewan Keil and James Woodroffe. Guy Garvey will also return to provide the voiceover for all episodes.
“Learning a new trade, especially one I know nothing about, is right up my street. The best way to understand this stuff is to chuck me in there with the people who’ve got years of experience and let me be a sponge, so yeah, I can’t wait to get stuck in”, said Martin.
