First look at C4’s reboot of A Woman of Substance

Film crews were spotted in various locations around Yorkshire
Channel 4 has released the first images from its new adaptation of Barbara Taylor Bradford’s sweeping novel, A Woman of Substance, filmed in Yorkshire.
Jessica Reynolds and Brenda Blethyn play the two different versions of protagonist Emma Harte, following her journey from young Yorkshire housemaid to business mogul.
The 20-week shoot began in late April this year, with film crews spotted in various Yorkshire locations including Barnsley Town Hall, Ilkley Moor and Brodsworth Hall and Gardens near Doncaster (source: BBC News).
A Woman of Substance is produced by The Forge Entertainment (a Banijay UK company), written by Katherine Jakeways and co-written by Roanne Bardsley. Banijay Rights will distribute internationally.
Executive producers are Beth Willis, Joe Innes, George Faber, Jakeways and The Barbara Taylor Bradford Trust. Bardsley is co-executive producer, and Charlie Palmer is the producer. John Hardwick directs block one, Samantha Harries block two and Richard Senior block three.
It was commissioned for Channel 4 by Rebecca Holdsworth, commissioning editor and Gwawr Lloyd, acting head of drama.
