Filming has commenced on the third series of The Tower, produced by Mammoth Screen and Windhover Films for ITV.
 

The new series, The Tower 3: Gallowstree Lane, has been adapted by Patrick Harbinson from Kate London’s third novel. It stars Gemma Whelan, Tahirah Sharif, Jimmy Akingbola and Emmett J Scanlan. 
 

The four-part drama is exec produced by Harbinson alongside Mammoth Screen’s Damien Timmer and Charlotte Webber.

Charles Bates produces and Rene van Pannevis directs. The recommission comes before Series 2 has begun airing on ITV; it is due to tx later this month. 
 

Harbinson, who runs co-producing company Windhover Films, said, “We’re delighted to be filming a third series of The Tower. Damien and I are very grateful to Polly Hill and ITV for the early commission. Gallowstree Lane has a high-stakes drugs and gangs storyline with Jimmy and Emmett’s characters taking major roles. 
 

“Sarah and Lizzie have gripping and heart-breaking stories too, as the drama of Portland Tower comes full circle. I firmly believe series three will be our best yet.’
