The series centres on two rival London law firms

Filming begins today, 8 September, on Sky and HBO’s original legal thriller War, starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller.

War follows London’s rival law firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne, in a high-stakes divorce case. With Sex Education director Ben Taylor at the helm for overseeing the series.

Created and written by George Kay, best known for Hijack and Lupin, War is co-produced by New Pictures and Kay’s Observatory Pictures, in association with Sky and HBO. Willow Grylls serves as executive producer alongside Matt Sandford for New Pictures, with Taylor, Susan Breen, Andrea Dewsbury and Megan Spanjian for Sky, with Kay also acting as an executive producer.

Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, Nina Sosanya, Pip Torrens and Archie Renaux are among the supporting cast.

Kay said: “I am excited to be working with Sky and HBO – two homes for bold, ambitious storytelling – and our brilliant production team. War is a legal drama full of double-crossing, scandal, twists, and betrayal. The kind of TV show that made me want to write TV shows.”

At the time of the greenlight announcement, the show was confirmed as a two-series order. Filming on the first run continues until February 2026, while the second season will begin production later next year.
