Doctor Foster Series 2 shoots early autumn
The second series of Doctor Foster is lining up to begin principal photography in early autumn, with Suranne Jones returning as the multi-faceted GP.
The first series, broadcast on BBC One last September, proved a huge hit for BBC One and the production company Drama Republic.
From writer Mike Bartlett, the five-parter centred on the fallout from the discovery by the eponymous medic of her husband”s affair. Jones went on to win the Leading Actress gong at this year”s TV BAFTA Awards for her performance, and the series became the highest-rated of any new UK television drama of 2015 with an average weekly audience of more than eight million.
The executive producers on Series 2 are Drama Republic”s Greg Brenman, Roanna Benn and Jude Liknaitsky along with Matthew Read for the BBC and the writer Mike Bartlett.
A producer and casting director have also been confirmed; PI subscribers can log in for details. We will be updating over the coming months as HoDs board the project; non-subscribers can click here for a demo.
