David Harewood films legal drama in London

The drama is shooting in and around west London

David Harewood stars in Pierre, a new C4 legal drama that began filming in London in the past couple of weeks.

The 6 x 60’ drama is produced by The Lighthouse with lead director Sarmad Masud calling the shots from scripts by co-writers Roy Williams and John Donnelly. The producer is Jo Johnson.

Harewood plays the eponymous duty solicitor Pierre Jeffreys, juggling his high-pressure job with a fragile personal life and financial demands.

His resolve is challenged when he investigates the suspicious death of a young black client, Michael. As Pierre confronts the police’s depiction of Michael as a criminal, he uncovers a complex web of institutional corruption… Michele Austin and Jason Flemyng co-star.

Gwawr Lloyd, commissioning editor, drama at Channel 4 said: “It’s exciting to be working with such a talented ensemble on Pierre, bringing this show’s brilliant characters to life. With the magnetic David Harewood leading the charge, this drama will be witty yet truthful, full of action and some major reveals.”

Pierre was commissioned for Channel 4 by Ollie Madden, director of Film4 and Channel 4 drama and Gwawr Lloyd, commissioning editor, drama. The executive producers are Salmon, Donnelly, Williams and Harewood.
