Daisy Edgar-Jones to star in Working Title’s Sense and Sensibility

The film is the third Jane Austen collaboration from Working Title and Focus Features
Daisy Edgar-Jones is lined up to star in a new, big-screen iteration of Sense and Sensibility, from Working Title Films, Focus Features and director Georgia Oakley.
Oakley is calling the shots from a screenplay by novelist Diana Reid. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films produce alongside India Flint of November Pictures and Jo Wallett.
Edgar-Jones will film the Jane Austen classic from next month, before heading overseas to join Fernando Mereilles’ Here Comes The Flood, starring Robert Pattinson and shooting in New York, New Jersey and Morocco, in early autumn.
Director Oakley won critical acclaim for her debut feature Blue Jean. The film earned Oakley a BAFTA Award nomination for Outstanding Debut and won the Audience Award at the 2022 Venice Film Festival.
Focus and Working Title have history of collaborating on Jane Austen adaptations, with the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice and the 2020 adaptation of Emma.
Sense and Sensibility was first confirmed exclusively for subscribers on Production Intelligence last month. Non-subscribers can click here to request a free walkaround of the site.
Another Austen adaptation, Pride and Prejudice, is also due to begin filming for Netflix in the UK soon, starring Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden. Further details of shoot dates and HoDs on that drama are also confirmed on Production Intelligence.
