Plum Pictures books in at Four Seasons for C5
The festive episode looks at the pre-Christmas preparation behind the scenes
Channel 5 has commissioned a Christmas special and a four-part documentary about Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane.
Plum Pictures is making the 1 x 60’ festive episode and the 4 x 60’ run, that goes behind the scenes of the hotel as it enters its 55th year.
The seasonal episode will take a look at the run-up to Christmas, as the team prepares Michelin-star afternoon teas, put up enormous Christmas trees, and decorate with shiny snowmen and mirrorballs. The four-part series, to tx next year, will follow the hotel staff – multi Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno of the hotel’s restaurant Pavyllon London – as they strive to deliver five-star excellence.
The executive producer is Gill Wilson, with consultant producer Katie Bowman for Plum Pictures. Kit Morey is commissioning editor for Channel 5.
Wilson said: “Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane welcomed us with open arms. The hotel’s staff are brilliant purveyors of both five-star service and cracking one-liners. We can’t wait for the audience to share in their hospitality genius and fantastic personalities.”
Kit Morey, commissioning editor, unscripted, Channel 5 added: “We are absolutely thrilled that the world famous Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane has chosen Channel 5 to welcome through its doors, and oh my, what festive fabulousness lay inside.
“The impeccably turned out staff are dedicated to detail and there is no expense spared to bring the very tastiest, tantalising, and tinsel clad treats to their guests – from thousand pound truffles to the world’s largest glitterball snowman – So, on the Eve of Christmas, across the country, we hope our viewers snuggle up on a sofa, sherry in hand and enjoy this hour of yuletide joy.”
