TV constantly seems to be on the verge of some new tipping point. But it is interesting to note that ITV2 panel show Celebrity Juice is out-rating rival programmes on established terrestrial channels BBC2, ITV1 and Five.

The show, which airs at 2200 on Thursday nights, is currently averaging around 2 million viewers, two weeks into its latest run. Fronted by comic Keith Lemon, episode two drew a highly commendable 8.8% share.

To date, ITV2 has commissioned or aired 72 episodes of Celebrity Juice from indie producer TalkbackThames. The show, which takes a wry look at celebrity gossip, won the Best Entertainment Show Award at the TV Choice Awards in 2011. Its popularity has also resulted in a DVD called Celebrity Juice Too Juicy For TV, which contain clips from series 1-3 and unseen footage.
