The drama is the first commission for Double Dutch Productions.

Asa Butterfield, Molly Windsor and Fra Fee are filming a new Netflix drama in the UK, called Out of the Dust, from writer Julie Gearey.

The six-part psychological thriller is set in a conservative Christian sect. The story follows Rosie (Windsor), a dutiful wife and mother who is propelled into a dangerous journey of female emancipation and sexual awakening following a fateful encounter with escaped convict, Sam (Fee).

Siobhan Finneran and Christopher Eccleston are among the supporting cast.

The executive producers are Iona Vrolyk and Myar Craig-Brown for Double Dutch Productions (the series marks the prodco’s first commission) and writer Gearey, best known for Intergalactic and Cuffs.

Nick Pitt produces with Jim Loach and Philippa Langdale directing.

Double Dutch Productions is part of Banijay UK. It was set up in October 2022 by drama producer Vrolyk.
