Pennyworth starts filming
Pennyworth, Warner Horizon’s Batman prequel drama series for Epix, begins filming today in the UK.
Pennyworth centres on Batman’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth, and explores the former special forces officer’s early years in London and the time during which he worked for Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas.
Jack Bannon (pictured) and Ben Aldridge play Pennyworth and Wayne respectively, casting news first reported on Deadline.
Warner Horizon is the producer of existing hit prequel series Gotham, which is also part of the Batman world and follows the early career of eventual Gotham police commissioner James Gordon.
Gotham creator Bruno Heller has developed Pennyworth alongside Danny Cannon; the pair also executive produce.
The shoot is expected to last around six months.
