Two new PMA workshops for 2018

Two new PMA workshops for 2018

CrewThe Production Managers Association is holding two workshops over the next few weeks aimed at production crew.

The first is a legal workshop called Production Crew Contracts. Held on 1 February in Soho, it will be presented by Nigel Abbas and Jenny Spearing from Abbas Media Law.

Crew contracts vary greatly from production company to production company – there is no standard industry template as there is for presenters, consultants etc, but the same areas should be covered in all.

The session will identify what those areas should be and also reference any updates that should be included due to changes in law and best practice and broadcaster requirements over recent years.

The event is free for PMA members and £30 for other attendees.

The second workshop is called So You Want to be a Production Co-ordinator? It runs on 20 January at Ealing Studios. The session will provide the opportunity to learn from experienced production managers the skills and knowledge needed to become a production co-ordinator.

The course costs £70 and will cover many key aspects of the role, including the setting up of shoots and all that entails; collecting all release forms and creating the initial risk assessment for sign off by the PM, taking care of petty cash, monitoring floats and checking expenses.
