Salford welcomes Production Guild training schemes

The Production Guild is hosting two intensive training schemes in Salford (MediaCityUK) this October. The two areas to be covered by industry professionals are: being a runner on set, and launching a career as a location assistant.
The three day course on becoming a location assistant will be held from 5th-7th October whilst the two day course on working as a runner will be on 5th and 6th. Â
The course on locations will cover a broad range of topics in the field, including what it takes to be a key member of a location team, how the location department is integral to the filming process and what knowledge is required to be successful. The cost of the classes is £152.64 per person.

The runners training was designed to prepare those new to the film and television industry and gives a broader perspective on the trade as a whole. The course will cover what is expected of you as a runner and an industry professional, as well as prepare you for work in what is often known as an unpredictable business. The cost of the sessions is £52.31 per person.
Both courses are heavily supported by Creative Skillset‘s Film Skills Fund which is funded by the National Lottery – via the BFI – and through the Skills Investment Fund.
