Film London Production Finance Market opens for applications

The market takes place in central London on 7 and 8 October
The Film London Production Finance Market 2025 (PFM) will take place on 7 and 8 October; applications are now open.
Now in its 19th year, the event will be held during BFI London Film Festival at The Thistle, Marble Arch. It is supported by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the Mayor of London and the BFI (awarding National Lottery Funding).
The financing event for independent film connects filmmakers and financiers from across the globe through one-to-one meetings as a way to navigate potential business partners and investment.
The main strand is open to feature film projects from established producers, including animation, with budgets above €1m, while the New Talent strand specifically targets filmmakers on their first feature. Documentaries are also welcome to apply and films reflecting a range of diverse perspectives and stories are positively encouraged.
Applications for the PFM close on 7th July 2025.
The 2024 edition of PFM saw 61 feature film projects presented with a total production value of around €290.38 million. The market attracted more than 190 attendees from across the globe, facilitating 862 meetings with delegates from 12 different countries.
Various projects from the 2024 edition have already reported offers made and financiers boarded as a result of the PFM.
Adrian Wootton OBE, chief executive of Film London, said: “Independent films are an essential part of the UK production ecosystem, providing the space to air fresh voices, and the recent introduction of the new tax credit for films with budgets up to £15m is an important piece of the financing jigsaw.
“Film London’s Production Finance Market – now in its 19th year – has continued to evolve and respond to the current needs of the industry. PFM is perfectly situated to foster conversations and stimulate more international investment and international co-production for some truly great projects, enforcing London’s reputation as a centre for the global film and screen content business.”
The 2025 edition will continue its international partnerships with EAVE, Australia/NZ with Melbourne, Hessen Film, The Netherlands Film Commission, IFF@TIFF/Ontario Creates, Tallinn Black Nights and South Africa’s National Film & Video Foundation. Further partnerships to be announced.
Ahead of PFM, new talent applicants can register to attend a PFM New Talent Roundtable. The Zoom meetings will be held every Tuesday at 2pm throughout the PFM application window, answering questions potential applicants have about how to apply. To register, click here.
