Award, a BBC talent search held last
year via the BBC Writersroom. Margot
Gavan Duffy produces and Sophie

Manchester was also the location for
Raised by Wolves, which completed
filming just a few days ago. The 6 x 30
comedy drama is written by Caitlin and
Caroline Moran and is loosely based
on the sisters’ lives growing up in
Wolverhampton. It is made by Big Talk
Productions for Channel 4, and follows
a successful pilot.
Currently about half way through a
lengthy, 20-week shoot - again in
Manchester - is No Offence. The
series is Paul Abbott’s skewed
and outrageous take on the police
procedural drama genre. It will star
Joanna Scanlan, Alexandra Roach,
Elaine Cassidy, Colin Salmon,
Will Mellor and Paul Ritter and is
from AbbottVision for Channel 4.
Lancashire-born Abbott has a long
association with the area, having

ITV. Michael Samuels directs while Tom

At the time of writing, filming is also

This month also sees the start of
filming on Home Fires, ITV Studios’ six-

novel Jambusters which chronicles
life on the Home Front during WWII,
with particular focus on a group of
inspirational women in the North West.
Using Cheshire locations, filming is due
to run until December.

Mellor’s company Rollem Productions
is based in Leeds and enjoys very
strong ties with the area; the recently-
aired drama In the Club filmed in and

BBC announced that the greenlight had
flashed on a second run, to shoot in the
same location in 2015.
