Timothy Spall in line to play Ian Paisley
A fascinating sounding feature film is currently in development with Timothy Spall lined up to play Sir Ian Paisley.
The Journey will be directed by Nick Hamm (Killing Bono, Full Circle) from a screenplay by Colin Bateman, and takes a fictionalised look at the unlikely friendship between the unmistakeable late leader of the DUP and Sinn Fein politician Martin McGuinness.
The producers are Mark Huffam and Piers Tempest; the project comes from Greenroom Entertainment; we have been told that filming is likely to be up in running in Northern Ireland and Scotland by the autumn.
Northern Ireland Screen and IM Global are backing the project.
From 3 July, subscribers to Production Intelligence can follow the feature and the main people involved.
