Slate of films for Pinewood

Brian Blessed Producer Timothy Haas of Haas Silver Levene (HSL) Film Studios has confirmed a slate of family films to be based at Pinewood Studios starting in 2018.

Haas is the producer behind Banking on Mr Toad, a live-action/animation movie about the life of Wind in the Willows creator Kenneth Grahame, who spent much of his life working at the Bank of England.

The project has been in development for some time, but is now gearing up again after a hiatus due to a change of schedule, cast and production partner. Luis Mandoki will direct from Haas’s screenplay; Brian Blessed (pictured) is attached in one of the lead roles.

HSL is developing a further three live-action/animation films in its family slate for Pinewood Studios: King Munchie and a Town Called Nasty, The Magical World of Shakespeare’s England and the franchise Mr Bartholomew.

Also part of the HSL development slate is a tranche of films under a brand called Real Story – People Who Made a Difference.

One of these projects is Legacy of Fire, about German composer Richard Strauss, to be played by Malcolm McDowell, which begins shooting at Bavaria Studios in Munich in late summer as part of HSL’s German slate.
