Robot Overlords move to the small screen

Ben KingsleyUK sci-fi adventure feature Robot Overlords is to make the transition to the small screen.

The spin-off series is being developed by Buccaneer Media, the production company established by seasoned TV drama producer Tony Wood. We spoke to the lovely people there, who confirmed it is still very early days on the project, so make sure you're following it on Production Intelligence to get updates over the summer.

Buccaneer struck a deal with Piers Tempest and Jo Bamford's Tempo Productions, the producers of the film; the director and co-writer of the feature, Jon Wright, is also working on the TV version, which is aimed at an international family audience.

The film attracted a stellar cast, led by Gillian Anderson and Ben Kingsley; casting on the small screen adaptation is yet to be confirmed.

We look forward to updating the productions details over the coming months on Production Intelligence; subscribers can find it under Robot Overlords TV project.
